Meet the team

Registered Manager and Director at Balgillo Nurseries

“I qualified in 1997 from Dundee College as a nursery nurse and since then I have worked within a range of settings. I feel that I have the most experience and knowledge of the private sector, where I have worked at all levels, including manager. Before working for myself at Balgillo Nursery my most recent employed post was within the Education Department of Dundee City Council where I worked closely with the voluntary sector.

Professional development is very important to me and I have continued to study since first qualifying and achieved a Bachelors degree in Childhood Practice with Dundee University in the summer of 2014. I am fully registered with the Care Commission and Scottish Social Services Council.

I hope that you find the information about the nursery and staff team interesting and informative. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me pamela@balgillonursery.co.uk. I hope to meet you all soon."

Deputy manager at Balgillo Nursery Too

I qualified with an HNC in Early Education and Childcare in 2010 and have worked mainly within the Private Sector. I started working at Balgillo Nursery in October 2013 and I am enjoying my time at the nursery.

Since starting the nursery I had been working with the 2-3 group of children and loved this experience. I am now working within the under 2 room and am fully committed to providing the best experiences for the youngest children.

I look forward to meeting any new parents and babies as they start and supporting them throughout their transition to nursery. I have recently completed my SVQ level 4 qualification through distant learning and have extended my role from EYP to EYE, this enables me to work more closely with and support management whilst taking on new responsibilities.

Through doing this I feel I have increased and developed my current knowledge about my job and its role and am able share my experiences with the children and staff team. I am the nurseries numeracy champion where I provide and promote numeracy throughout the nursery.

I started working at Balgillo Nursery Too in February 2015. I have been working towards my SVQ level level 3 in Childcare and look to be finished mid-2017. Before I started working at Balgillo nurseries I did some volunteer work assisting and helping disabled adults, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Upon starting, I worked within the 2-5 room, working more closely with the 2-3 year old group, which I enjoy very much. I now at present work within the under 2 room where I have adapted well to the new environment and am enjoying the challenges and responsibilities when caring for the younger children.

I am happy and very eager to learn, and like a new challenge. I am fully registered with the Scottish Social Services Council at Support Worker Level.
