Meet the team
The staff team working within the nurseries are a diverse team of professionals who bring a wealth of experience, qualifications and knowledge. 100% of our staff are already trained or are training towards formal childcare qualifications including Higher National Certificate, Professional Development Awards and Degree level.

A quarter of our staff team also exceeds the recommended qualification level by actively undertaking further accredited training up to degree level.

Director at Balgillo Nursery Ardler Village

Since qualifing to HNC level in 2000 at Dundee College I have worked within a range of settings at home and abroad. I have also worked at all levels, including manager.

I joined Balgillo Nursery in 2008 where I worked as Depute Manager. I also have a keen interest in the development of Balgillo Nursery Too and Pamela and I are working alongside our newest team members to develop the practice within the nursery and ensure that this operates to a high level also.

Pamela and I have previously worked together so I know that we share the same values and beliefs when it comes to high quality care and education.Ongoing professional development is a big part of this and I qualified in June 2011 with a Level 8, Professional Development Award through Dundee College.

I look forward to meeting your family soon and welcoming you to Balgillo Nursery Ardler Village.

Director at Balgillo Nurseries

“I qualified in 1997 from Dundee College as a nursery nurse and since then I have worked within a range of settings. I feel that I have the most experience and knowledge of the private sector, where I have worked at all levels, including manager and director. Before working for myself and purchasing Balgillo Nursery, Torridon Road in 2008,   my most recent employed post was within the Education Department of Dundee City Council where I worked closely with the voluntary sector. In 2011 Balgillo Nurseries extended on to a second site, known locally as Balgillo Nursery Too, and now in 2014 Kim and I have formed a new business partnership to create Balgillo Nursery, Ardler Village.

Professional development is very important to me and I have continued to study since first qualifying and achieved a Bachelors degree in Childhood Practice with Dundee University in the summer of 2014. I am fully registered with the Care Commission and Scottish Social Services Council.

I hope that you find the information about the nurseries and our staff teams interesting and informative. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me I hope to meet you all soon"
